It is important for your ophthalmologist to review your updated health history at each visit.  Many systemic and/or acute diseases can affect the health of your eyes.  Medications that you may be on could potentially interact with ocular medicines that we may prescribe.  Your allergies and current physical symptoms also play a vital role in your ophthalmologist's overall assessment of your ocular health.  It is important to remember that your eyes are connected to the rest of your body and therefore your health is reflected in your eye examination.
