Lyda D. Tymiak, M.D., P.A. and Andrea M. Cottrell, M.D.

In 1980, Lyda D. Tymiak, M.D. founded Gulfcoast Eye Care in Palm Harbor, Florida as a comprehensive ophthalmology practice treating medical and surgical diseases of the eye, and specializing in cataract and implant surgery. Gulfcoast Eye Care quickly became one of the area's premier eye care facilities, and Dr. Tymiak continues to earn many awards and accolades as an educator and pioneer in the field of ophthlamology. In addition to intraocular cataract and refractive lens surgery, Dr. Tymiak has specialized in oculoplastic and cosmetic eyelid and skin surgery. This led to her opening Timeless MD Spa in 2004 to focus on skin rejuvenation, facial sculpting and age reversal medicine with hormonal modulation.

In July 2007 Dr. Tymiak's daughter, Andrea M. Cottrell, M.D. joined Gulfcoast Eye Care as an associate, forming America's first mother-daughter ophthalmology team. Dr. Cottrell specializes in adult and pediatric eye care, as well as cataract and implant surgery. She offers multifocal and accomodative implants, the newest technology giving patients with cataracts the opportunity to see distance and near without glasses. These lenses include the Restor, Rezoom and Crystalens. Dr. Cottrell also fits soft and rigid gas permeable contact lenses and performs cosmetic eyelid surgery.
