Dr. Robert Howard, MD – Ophthalmologist in Tampa Bay & St. Petersburg

Dr. Robert Howard is a board-certified ophthalmologist dedicated to giving patients freedom from glasses and contact lenses. Drawn to the field by its blend of high-precision surgery and constantly evolving technology, Dr. Howard brings a deeply personal perspective to his practice—having undergone refractive surgery on his own eyes.

After earning his medical degree from Tufts University School of Medicine, Dr. Howard spent eight years as a U.S. Army physician, earning the Meritorious Service Medal during his tenure as Chief of Ophthalmology at Fort Riley. His commitment to restoring sight also includes international service, highlighted by an ophthalmic mission trip to Honduras.

Now residing in Palm Harbor, Florida, Dr. Howard has served the greater Tampa area since 2015. When he isn’t helping patients transform their vision, he enjoys life as an active father to his two sons and coaches local youth baseball.
