How We’re Serving You and Our Community

Since our founding in 1980, it’s been our mission at Gulfcoast Eye Care to provide a personalized and friendly experience to all our patients, whether they’re coming in for LASIK, cataract surgery, or just an eye exam and prescription update. A few weeks ago, we had to face the new reality that the best way to ensure our patients’ health was to suspend our services and postpone appointments until further notice.

During the period in which we were closed, we worked hard to implement precautions in our office that allowed for the services and procedures on which our community has come to rely on over the last 40 years to be done safely. We are now open for business at all locations, and rest assured, we will continue to work tirelessly to ensure your health and safety while you’re in any of our offices. To schedule an appointment, call us at (727) 263-3632.

How We’re Keeping You Safe in Our Office

As a health care provider, we’ve always been focused on keeping our practice space as hygienic as possible for the wellbeing of our staff and our patients. With that in mind, we want to make sure our patients know everything that we’re doing to protect them so they can feel safe and comfortable at our practice in these uncertain times. We are committed to the following protocols:

  • We will continue to provide remote services. Patients can check in from their car, by text, or over the phone. We’re also working on a completely virtual check-in process. Telemedicine consultations will continue to be available via computer or tablet, or by calling (727) 263-3632.
  • We will enforce best practices for patients in-office. We’ve reconfigured our offices to maintain appropriate social distancing measures, and we’ll provide guidance for patients before their appointments about the importance of masks, as well as information about how to effectively stay safe.
  • We will maintain a sterile, hygienic, and healthy workplace. All our staff wear masks and wash their hands frequently. We thoroughly wipe down all medical technology. An after-hours cleaning service has been brought in to sanitize the entire office at the end of each day.
  • We have kept, and will continue to keep, our whole team employed. Our staff members belong to the same community that our patients do, and we show the same level of commitment to everyone in our office.

What to Expect at Your Appointment at Gulfcoast Eye Care

Though we recognize that our hygienic shields, face masks, and social distancing may make for a less intimate experience than we’d like to offer, we’ll be just as friendly and welcoming as ever to make you feel at home.

The next time you come into any of our three locations, you’ll find a few changes. We’ll start by screening you over the phone for COVID-19 symptoms before your visit.

We’ll be limiting the amount of appointments and people we have in our practice at any given time. To that end, we ask that you come alone, and you must wear a face mask in our offices. For children or those who require special assistance, we ask that they be limited to one guardian accompanying them. We’ll welcome you in and direct you to a safe place to wait for your appointment. We’ll happily bring you anything you need until your appointment, at which time we’ll escort you to the appropriate room.

Before, throughout, and after appointments, we provide exceptional care and flexibility. You may reschedule your appointment at any time for health reasons. We will not permit anyone with fever, flu-like, or COVID-19 symptoms to enter our offices at this time.
